It is the ultimate neutrino experiment, and I get excited every time I get to talk about it. Neutrinos are possibly the reason we exist; how can one not be totally interested in that question? I also love working with lots of different people and solving problems as a group. I love being in a meeting and watching as a new idea emerges out of a discussion amongst a group of many people thinking hard at the same time. Science at work!<\/p>\n<p>When I\u2019m not working on particle physics, I like gardening and canning. I just love living off of things that you can grow and eat. If I hadn\u2019t been a physicist, maybe I would have been a farmer. It\u2019s something that\u2019s very satisfying, when you do something and you finish with a final product. It\u2019s not quite the same with DUNE: I am sure we will be very satisfied when we finish the construction of the massive, precision DUNE detector, but then there are years of discovery beyond that when we will continue to reap the rewards of our labor.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/div>\n<div class=\"learnmore\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fnal.gov\/pub\/science\/lbnf-dune\/index.html\">Curious about the project?
