I feel that we can understand very fundamental things through physics, from the planets rotating to particles interacting with each other \u2013 that\u2019s really amazing. When I went to Stanford to get my PhD in 2002, that was kind of the beginning of the neutrino era, when lots of interesting results were coming out of the neutrino experiments, so I became very interested. DUNE is the next generation of neutrino experiments. This detector has a much higher resolution, compared with previous detectors, so it can see the real details of the neutrino interactions, which we can learn a lot from.
