Thanks to my studies and research, I’ve lived in many countries and worked in several underground laboratories, including Gran Sasso and Sanford Lab. I love traveling and getting to know different people and places. It is amazing to go to work a mile underground. You go down at 7 a.m. and come back up at 5:30 p.m. There are cleanrooms, Wi-Fi, everything. Working on DUNE, I’m responsible for the light calibration system for the dual-phase detector. I like that it is a big collaboration, and at the end of the road, we all work together to answer big questions – such as the origin of matter in the universe.
