I enjoy working in the neutrino physics community. It’s small, but well-connected. I realized that in a few years, you can get to know a lot of people. It’s really interesting. When I’m not doing physics, I like to hike a lot. I used to hike almost every week in Oregon, as long as the weather would permit. I hiked over the area near Newport, near the university, and I would drive a couple of hours just to hike in new places. When you’re hiking, you’re enjoying the nature, and it also gives you a kind of relaxation because you are all by yourself. You can just think about whatever comes into your mind without any restrictions. And the silence is really refreshing. And it’s kind of like a quest, because you are following a trail to get somewhere and then you come back. You really feel like you have done something.
